Professor Giuseppe Lombardi, MD, PhD, is a medical oncologist at the IOV – Istituto Oncologico Veneto– Veneto Institute of Oncology in Padua, Italy, where he is currently recruiting patients for the LEGATO study.
A leading clinical researcher in the field of neuro-oncology, Professor Lombardi has been deeply involved in advancing brain tumor treatment for over a decade. He has served as principal investigator in numerous international clinical trials, with a strong focus on glioblastoma and meningioma. He is the creator and coordinator of the REGOMA, REGOMA-2, and MIRAGE trials, and led the development of regorafenib as an internationally recognized treatment option for recurrent glioblastoma, now included in the NCCN – National Comprehensive Cancer Network guidelines (2020–2024).
His contributions have been recognized with several awards, including Best Italian Oncologist (AIOM), Best EORTC Neuro-Oncology Investigator (2024), Best Young Italian Neuro-Oncologist (Premio Carla Russo), and the Argos Hippium Award for Oncology Research.
